Best of best. Must watch.

Wonderful movie by wonderful actors and director. Plot was very nice and funny. We Americans failed to understand some of the real issues in our country which is creating our hatred towards one another but here they tried to explain whatever we see and we hear are not true. Politicians are making our country very very bad. I never expect Canadian movie will be this much awesome. Very very thrilling and interested movie. i would recommend to watch this movie ad i promise you will enjoy.

Non French speakers forget it.

This is not a review of the film so much as a outline of my experience watching it. I think if I were a French speaker I would probably have enjoyed it, but as an English speaker I made it about a third of the way through before abandoning ship.

I have no problem with subtitles, foreign, non English films, or films with multiple languages, but this is difficult to watch because of the way it was done. Most films with a foreign language, it's spoken when there's a necessity, i.e. in scenes involving nationals that don't speak English; if its a foreign film this is throughout the performance but following with subtitles is fairly straightforward. With this film the characters who spoke both English and French switched between the two randomly in the same scene even conversation. One sentence would usually be in French, then for no reason, they would flip to English, then back to French, for no apparent reason and no warning. Its this constant back and forth that becomes problematic as it occurred from the very first scene till when I gave up after about half an hour.

Its a difficult situation to deal with because a.) your constantly flitting between your attention being on subtitles and screen action, and b.) you fumbled for moments when they switch and your ill prepared and lose track of the dialogue.

Of course if you speak French you won't have this problem, but for English speakers watching the film with this dialogue format becomes a chore and detracts significantly from enjoyment.

If you don't speak French I'd advise you to give it a miss.

As funny as the first one

The first Bon Cop Bad Cop played a lot on the humour of Quebec French meet Ontario English with a theme well known and love by every Canadians of every language, Hockey.

I had a little fear this second instalment was not gonna be as funny as the first one due of this hockey parody theme now gone, and the fact that both actor have aged quite a bit, but i was WRONG. Its as good as the first one and in some parts even surpass it.

Obviously in Quebec we don't have the budget of the American industry, so do not go see it hoping for a ton of special effects and explosions or stuff like that. There is some action but it is before everything else a comedy and in that regard it stand as a very good one and maybe even better than recent American comedies. It remind me a bit of Lethal Weapon with more humour and less action.

Honestly i don't go see much of our own Quebec Productions as i am spoiled by the Hollywood big budget industry, but when i rented the first one i really loved it, i bough the DVD and i watched many time, so i promised myself i was gonna see this one in theatre and i am very happy i did.
